I see some people boost their own posts. Why would one do that?

I have a friend who likes her own posts on facebook. Like every time. For the last, I want to say, decade.
I was never sure if it was a sign of a problem with her personality or mine because I didn't understand her behaviour..

@rizole Whenever my Bluesky bot posts one of my old mastodon posts, I like to boost it on mastodon because the difference in timestamps makes me happy.
@rizole And sometimes I boost my own posts because I’m responding to another person and others won’t readily see it unless they're also following that other person, so I boost it to push it to the main feed.
