I see some people boost their own posts. Why would one do that?

@rizole @Alice because of time zones.

People often skip past the posts that were made when they were sleeping. They start from when they woke up, and the chances are high that they might have missed my most awesome post that puts other posts to shame because of the sheer size of its awesomeness.

@rizole Whenever my Bluesky bot posts one of my old mastodon posts, I like to boost it on mastodon because the difference in timestamps makes me happy.

@rizole And sometimes I boost my own posts because I’m responding to another person and others won’t readily see it unless they're also following that other person, so I boost it to push it to the main feed.
