Name another photo app that will happily send you to a competitor.
If Pixelfed isn't for you, there are many amazing alternatives like:
- @frequency
- @gotosocial
- @admin
- @vernissage
All of them let you share images. All of them talk to Pixelfed. Leaving isn't a punishment here, because you never lose the network.
When you put people first, you build doors instead of cages.

Such app don't have to be compare with pixelfed. It is not libre and does not belong to the fediverse either
@tofeo @pixelfed @frequency @gotosocial @admin @vernissage Just because it's not open source, doesn't mean it doesn't belong here. There are many popular federated platforms, like Flipboard and Threads that connect people, despite being closed source.
We're not all open source purists here, and we can't expect everyone to share the same values, but I think it's pretty special that we can still interact with them!
The fediverse is bigger than just you and me, and we need to accept that!
