I sometimes wonder how much of my making a career in the clathrin feild can be attributed to that first Lysosomes GRC I attended being dominated by Frances, Scottie, Sandy, Gillian, and Jennifer instead of a bunch of dudes like my previous GRC on plant and fungal cytoskeleton had been.
I walked into the brand new lecture hall at Andover Academy and the front rows were full of these women, leaders in the field, most of whom I knew by reputation, some of whom I'd thought were men😳.
I just felt 'Like, yeah, I can sit there in a few years'.
And I now I do.
