Is it also making you upset 😡 that the majority of laptops 💻 are only sold with a specific proprietary operating system: Microsoft Windows.
So as user, you must pay for it 💲, even if you do not want to use this OS.
This is unfair and we want to change it! Consumers should be able to buy laptops without any specific OS, and should not have to pay the license price if they don't want to.

@fsfe When I bought my last laptop (Acer) about a decade ago, I specifically went for cheap 17" one (Aspire 5 series), and it came with FreeDOS preinstalled (I installed Debian GNU/Linux on it for actual use, but avoided the #WindowsTax). Still works (had one keyboard replacement, which was painful), although the bloat is catching up on it (forced tab unloading in Firefox helps a lot, though!)
@fsfe Slimbook in Spain sell a range of computers and Laptops with the emphasis on Linux OS. They will set you up with a dual boot to include Windows as well but you have to ask for it (and pay of course!)
No, I got a Dell XPS 13" *twice* and never regretted the preinstalled Ubuntu. Until recently, so I am seeking to replace Ubuntu. There never was the Windows tax for me.
Yep, I have paid the Microsoft Tax. Even on machines where the first time I powered up was to boot from a Linux CD. And yeh, it made me mad.
