Since the Louise started her work in 2020, 10,495 people on the move have been recorded as missing in the Central Mediterranean alone.

Our hope that Europe would stand up for its own foundations, its core values of human rights and freedom for all, has still not been realised.

While the reasons for fleeing, such as droughts caused by man-made climate change, poverty, and war, are increasing, the EU is not taking political responsibility for its own complicity in these problems but continues to seal itself off.

Exactly six years ago, our crew completed their first rotation and were able to assist 300 people in distress at sea.

We are still at sea today; rather than the reasons for our work being resolved through political measures, both people on the move and we ourselves are being threatened by EU-funded Libyan militias, which is making our work immensely difficult.
