The 'brain drain' out of socially divided, fascist and war-torn Europe and Asia over the first half of the 20th century - and subsequently from poor countries throughout the world - was a big factor in the technological and economic development of the US. Now the brain drain is the other way - out of the US - to Canada, and widely reported in Europe, and even to China. Watch out for the future economic impacts of the US' loss of talent.
