I am going to point out again, and repeat again that I have discovered something I LOVE about @phanpy . If I want to interact with a post, even just boost or like, there is one extra click worth of friction in order for me to do that.
I cannot do anything from the scroll of my home timeline. I have to be committed enough to my interaction or response to open the post.
I think this is *brilliant*. It is exactly enough of a challenge that it slows the clicky-fingers back down to brain speed.
@phanpy It effectively separates The DoomScroll from the Discourse. It's a flimsy, thin veil of separation, but just enough for me (and I still think and react pretty fast, even for an old woman) to have a split second for the brain to go " ah, shit, do I really want to bother with that?".
It's the gentlest of reminders that not everything online is All About You, that you can just take a breath and move on, that not everything that hits our eyeballs is worth our effort.
