A federal judge threw out the Texas drag ban this week, and part of the reasoning was that the law had been written so loosely it could have reached Dolly Parton — the big hair, the flamboyant clothes, the whole rhinestone architecture of her.
She died Tuesday. She had spent a lifetime being claimed by people who never asked her permission, and politely declining every one of them.
