My homelab stopped being a toy the day my family started depending on it.
The photos live on the NAS. The ad blocking is why the phones stay quiet, so DNS dying is my problem at dinner. Take anything offline and someone notices within an hour.
I built this so breaking things would be free. Now every change is a negotiation, and I run maintenance windows for a network in my basement.
The reward for a homelab that works is you can't break it anymore.
