someone in the US has once again typo'd their e-mail such that it ends up as my e-mail and is furiously trying to order things from a store called "CVS" via DoorDash
@halcy damn, tell them everyone moved to SVN years ago
also from "wingstop" and some other places
? ? ?
I password reset and logged in to try to delete the account, which seems to have sent a sms to the guy and scared him enough that he checked the mail and fixed it
guess that is fine, then
@halcy I used to get uber emails and a few other things from some Brazilian lady for a few years. I think it was also after trying to force some unsubscribe or reset thing that it stopped.
absolute dipshit behaviour from companies once again to not *validate the e-mail on signup*
like there should be no situation where I, random dipshit around the world, am basically forcibly exposed to someones name, address and credit card details because you cannot take 15 seconds to make sure that the e-mail doesnt have a typo
@halcy but think of the bounce rate during registration! The poor shareholders!
@halcy lmao I was just posting about something very similar
