type of american who sends all their blueprints to multiple Chinese factories to have them produce all the products and do all the shipping and then complain that "china stole my property!" when cheaper knockoffs flood the market

@june Yeah, that definitely happens, but also, there's just an extreme amount of talent and capability over there now anyway. Depending on the device, they can either whip up a knockoff based on specs alone, or if they get their hands on it, they can reverse engineer it if necessary. Of course, that all depends on whether cheap knockoffs are at all possible or profitable. They aren't always. But for consumer things, they often are. It's... disheartening if you're a certain type of person trying to make a living in the US... :/
