Fuck "Great Man Theory" - especially when it's used to excuse awful people "but they do/did such "great things, we need to give them a pass on the gross stuff they do!"
Everything done by a "great man" could be done by someone else - and probably better - if they were given the space and resources to do so.
Nothing anymore is built by a single "Great Man". It's a collection of people working together to build something great - it's just the "Great Man" that takes all the credit and the money.
