#Lucilia #sericata (#Diptera) has a #Holarctic distribution. It plays a major role as a pioneer #species on animal #carcasses. L. Iancu et al. (2021) studied the fly #microbiome in the presence of the pathogen #Salmonella #enterica. The composition of the fly microbiome, dominated by #Firmicutes and #Proteobacteria, remained unaffected by it.
