Roughly half of the global oil supply comes from countries engaged in conflict, and the US is benefiting from causing some of these conflicts by exporting records amounts.
Moving of fossil fuels is not just necessary to address the climate emergency and strategic autonomy but it will have dividends in removing the financial incentives from some of these conflicts that revolve around the control of oil and natural gas supplies.
