Well this is interesting. My old colleagues at Equal Experts took away a team’s AI tools to try and gauge the ROI on AI spend.
The team got faster. And improved their domain knowledge. And realised they were losing their coding chops(!)

Also, a friend of mine has commented regarding this whole LLM in software thing:

Yes. Yes it does. It is beginning to feel like a power struggle to deskill those of us who know what we’re doing. Why? Who knows. But I suspect it has something to do with money and power.
What’s that quote I saw recently?

@thirstybear I can't recommend @pluralistic 's latest book, "The reverse centaur's guide to life after AI", enough. It deals with how the framing of AI as such an attack is core to the comical (scam/bubble) nature of the big US AI companies.
That doesn't mean you can't use these tools for engineering, but it does explain why so many ways that is being done are so incredibly horrible...
