@samir i think that sounds like backpedaling after getting called out. it's terribly common on fedi to advocate for individual dissent as a solution to embedded power structures and it's unfortunately still popular to do so. i think it's worth calling out as such until people learn to stop saying it
@samir "i can't control what decisions signal makes" is its own problem. nobody has control over the decisions others make without their consent and that includes programmers themselves
@hipsterelectron Not convinced. I immediately read it as directed towards programmers, not end-users. I think it is unclear, but that doesn’t mean we can ascribe intent.

@hipsterelectron Not saying you’re wrong! I think it’s unclear. Personally, I like to choose the interpretation that makes me smile, not the one that makes me upset. (And I’m not implying you can’t be upset, or that it’s wrong to be. Just do me a favour and choose something that serves you well.)
