who is this directed at https://cloudisland.nz/@aurynn/117124962899839203 users can't choose the software. we can fix electron but only by fixing the web. but that's too hard and nobody wants to do that
@hipsterelectron Some programmers listen to Aurynn! Hopefully they’ll listen this time. https://cloudisland.nz/@aurynn/117125290325261691
@samir i think that sounds like backpedaling after getting called out. it's terribly common on fedi to advocate for individual dissent as a solution to embedded power structures and it's unfortunately still popular to do so. i think it's worth calling out as such until people learn to stop saying it
@samir "i can't control what decisions signal makes" is its own problem. nobody has control over the decisions others make without their consent and that includes programmers themselves
@hipsterelectron Not convinced. I immediately read it as directed towards programmers, not end-users. I think it is unclear, but that doesn’t mean we can ascribe intent.
@samir willing to be wrong here
