at the city library today with the surface go - impressed, so much better than the iPad, and battery is holding up well, used roughly 15% in an hour. Shouldn’t need to plug into AC or even a battery writing a issue of the sizzle
Sizzle done, only 30% battery used. I didn't expect the battery to last that long! I may even be able to leave a USB charger at home next time and just take the 5,000mAh USB-C battery I always carry.
@decryption Neat! Do you use the touch screen at all, or are you treating it as a "deconstructed" laptop?
@projectgus nah no touch screen - deconstructed laptop! (I was exploring using a Rasperry Pi 4 and a 10.5" USB monitor, but then this Surface Go 4 popped up on Facebook for just $200, so I grabbed it)
@decryption Good deal! I like the idea of a super portable setup like this, and $200 is easier to justify than an MNT Pocket Reform
@projectgus i dont know how often they appear for ~$200, on ebay they're around $400-$500! BTW, the touch screen works great out of the box on GNOME, everything does except the camera (which is fine with me - you can get it working with some kernel modules)
@decryption writing in your downloads folder is unhinged 😆
also: reading sizzle via email < reading sizzle via rss <<<< reading sizzle exclusively via decryption workspace setup photos
@willhbr I downloaded the template off my OneDrive account and editing it there! I'm not crazy!!!
@decryption half your luck. I have a 1st gen running Win10 and it’s almost unusable most of the time
@drew the first-gen's CPU was dog shit when it was released, let alone now, haha - wonder how it would go with Linux? (I'm using Arch on this 4th-gen)
