it used to be the case that using codeberg was like "the right thing to do, it's a little laggier and some features are missing, but still good" but now github is so bad and broken codeberg is not even a step down in UX.
I have finally put on my Big Boy Pants (non-gender-specific) and started using Inkscape and I would love it if someone still using Illustrator would tell me the same thing about Illustrator. I don't even care if it's true, I just want to believe that it's not still better than this fundamentally usable but undeniably clunky mess.
@stevegis_ssg
Idk I have a cracked copy of illustrator 2021 that's fully offline because my assumption is that the new versions are broken, if that meets the needs for hearing they are
@jonny my project is literally in the middle of this conversation now: “It’s more reliable and doesn’t encourage AI slop”. Talk about a low bar.
@hugh
Having a local CI runner is not even hard and that's the only structural edge github has over codeberg
@jonny forgejo is a delight even where it's flawed, because I know there's no force trying to get something out of me for using it
@jonny the problem with making any place the place is eventually it will turn to shit, so my thoughts about codeberg is for now its cool, but don’t expect it to be perfect or immaculate forever
@cyberquixote hopefully forgejo federates by then
