Aging sucks, and my body is totally fucked, and my mind is, well, infuriating at times.
But tonight, in a video, I saw a guy sing "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", except all he knew of the lyric was just that, "smoke gets in your eyes".
And I tried to recall the lyric, and I couldn't, and it pissed me off.
Then I took the dogs out to pee, and while I was out there, I remembered all but a single couplet of the lyric. Even the missing couplet I remembered had a different rhythm than the rest.

And when I came back inside, I put it on, and the bulk of it that I remembered was correct, and the missing couplet *did* have a different rhythm than its peers.
So I felt a little better.
Slower, perhaps, built now for comfort, not speed, but I *got* there.

None of the rest of the couplets at that location have something like the "lovely" beat. The rest all just have a single beat there.
