I mean it's not Doctorow's fault that capitalism can absorb and co-opt even savage critiques of how it functions - but it kinda is his fault for not just calling the fascist beast what it is to begin with because I assure you Silicon Valley executives would not be tossing around "Nazi thought control/Newspeak device" the way they toss around "enshifitication" now.
