@ai6yr Vegan here, I can explain the gripe:
Primarily it's because of mutilating the queen and clipping her wings so she can't fly and leave the hive. Though I've heard a few beekeepers say they don't do that.
Secondarily, however, philosophically it's because the honey was never made for us. It "belongs" to the bees.
....that said, without beekeepers I have no idea how many of our crops would be pollinated right now, so I wax more philosophical about this than many vegans do.
Oh, there's also the environmental argument that honeybees displace native bees.
