Giving up on “Foundation” three episodes in. Each of these episodes has asked me to care about a completely different set of characters, none of whom is particularly interesting; the writing and acting are not great; and the production design, costumes and environments are consistently unappealing. Even the typography is bunk. It feels like there’s a certain amount of money on the screen, but to little effect.

Having once written a short story featuring the collapse of a sabotaged space elevator, I thought this one was effectively presented and handled. But otherwise: a pronounced meh.
