Thinking with Fiona Apple, today.
About embracing being on the periphery. And letting go of the centre, and its cold, dead hand around our hearts.

@timhollo my favourite Vonnegut quote: “I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.”
I use it to remind myself that I make deliberate choices to always be at the edges. There’s a more tenuous hold on a feeling of belonging, but a greater chance of seeing where things could move to.
Love a Fiona Apple rabbit hole too. I’ve been listening to her early records a lot.
