Full color but seemingly black and white photo taken from the shadows of a park of a triangular patch of silvery lake as seen through a "window" of silhouetted rocks, tree trunk, and overhanging boughs of white willow. The bright morning sunlight should be flaring in to illuminate the shadows where I stand, but it is heavily filtered by the thick, gauzy spiderwebs that wrap the boughs like a veil or a shroud in an arc over the shadowy rocks along the woodsy floor of the lake edge and the tree trunk making a wall of shadow on our right. The lake itself is reflecting what should likewise be a glorious flare but is instead a riot of refraction and limning of the glittering bodies of the thousands of midges not already caught up in the veil (or shroud) overhead.
