I'm using facebook extensively for the first time since like 2009 because that's where the neighborhood parenting groups are and this might be the most broken website of all time. The UI is incomprehensible, everything takes three refreshes to load properly, and I just now clicked to edit a post and somehow tagged the US Department of Labor

For some inexplicable reason that I don't want to poke in case it stops being that way, all the parenting group chats here are on signal (there are also email lists)
@gbargoud we have some ice alert signal groups around here but maybe i just haven't met any of the cool parents yet
There is one person who organized the major neighborhood parent group (as in does it as a full time job, it's a $50/year subscription to get access and there are a few thousand families paying that subscription fee)
Some years ago she wanted to add chats as well as the forums and for some reason or another ended up choosing Signal as the app for those. There are a lot of people on there who think Signal is an app for park slope parents group chats and not a pre-existing one.
