Thoughts on the current state of the conflict against Fascism in the US
The political contest and fighting in the US seems to be in sort of a false lull right now. A mixture of police and climate heat has caused public protests to become limited in scope, and high profile direct actions (such as the warehouse and Tesla fires) also to be on break.
The lull is false however, I see at least four active fronts right now.
First of them is the election defense campaign for November, into which considerable resources are being allocated. We've already seen things like ICE at polling places during primary season, and since the GOP cannot win a fair fight a lot more is expected in November. An election either stolen or disregarded by Trump and the GOP will be a real "put up or shut up," make or break moment for all of us. Organizing for this so we are ready may be the most important thing that can be done right now
Second is the direct action campaign of mass Flock camera destruction. One person cutting down a pole bearing a Flock camera is probably worth at least a hundred protesting at City Hall against a Flock camera, though that too has value. That county commissioner who called for hanging the CEO of Flock took a real personal risk too.
Third front is the protests and street occupations in places where ICE or Pol-ICE kill someone. St Augustine FL comes to mind here as I was at that protest, so does Wisconsin where weeks of protest resulted. None of these protests escalated into nationwise protest much less rioting, but the enemy may still fear exactly that.
Another front opened less than a month ago in the border wall construction zone in Arizona. Destruction contractors have been stopped from uprooting old growth cottonwoods by a treesit that has been seemingly growing by the day. This action has become a focus of both pro-migrant and pro-Earth activists. It is also a very rare CD action against an extraordinarily dangerous administration, but the stakes are no worse than those faced by any military unit receiving such orders as to hold their ground at any cost. This of course is exactly what the cottonwood defenders are doing!

Finally there are all the propaganda and news efforts online to get people moving and keep people from giving up, and prevent the increasing control of corporate media by pro-Trump forces from cutting off access to information.
Let's remember: all conflict has its ebbs and tides. WWII began with a months-long "phoney war" where almost no military action was attempted as the combatants essentially circled oneanother waiting for an opening.
