Just picked up milk and noticed the label says "100% milk from real cows". This wasn't something I was worried about before now.

There were a couple of scandals a few years back.
The chinese were adding melamine and the australians were adding a milk by product.
Both countries were forced to lift their game pronto.
Before the FDA, milk in the US contained all sorts of stuff, some of it rather repulsive.

@mattblaze there was a somewhat short lived kids' cereal called cröönchy stars, with (licensed) Muppets Swedish Chef branding, and on the side above the ingredients list it said "contains no glass shards or pachyderms: the other cereals may not contain these either, but if they don't why don't they say so?" and that bit of insidious propaganda has stayed with me ever since.
@mattblaze I learned recently that the "real" purpose of "kosher milk" was to have someone (a rabbi) monitoring the cow->bottle->home process to insure that no one pees into the milk (to express hatred of Jews), which apparently was once common enough to be a problem.

@mattblaze let me reassure you, as someone who worked making chevre cheese on a goat farm, there is no way anyone could mistake oat milk for cow milk.
