Are they taking the piss?
@TheBreadmonkey I wonder if the boat is called the SS Nakatomi
@TheBreadmonkey
but, is it a christmas movie ?
@TheBreadmonkey lol. piss successfully extracted i think
@TheBreadmonkey I have never knowingly watched a Jason Statham movie. I haven’t been actively avoiding him, the kind of movies he makes just don’t do stuff for me that much 🤷🏻♂️
@a @TheBreadmonkey Have you not seen Spy, the Paul Feig film? He’s genuinely terrific in it. I need to see it again.
And his bits in the gag reel are great https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=CRg9oaOFLmDYGiA3&t=125&v=bXs2P3XxAVg&feature=youtu.be
hi ben!
"chatGPT make a poster of a cop taking out a load of baddies and rescuing some hostages.
p.s. the hero is bald and hard to kill."
i actually enjoyed it.
it does what is says on the tin.
also when i see
"HE IS ADORABLE"
i expect a furry creature.
imagine my surprise when it is a cockney hard man.
@amiserabilist @TheBreadmonkey @a I enjoyed it too. It was good fun. With an axe.
In other news - I recommend The Meg 2
@TheBreadmonkey @amiserabilist @a Ooh, yes. I must see that.
I'M A FUCKING BEE KEEPER *karate chop*
@TheBreadmonkey @Nickiquote having actually watched it last night, “homage” is a strong thread throughout the movie. Some may, however, say “blatant Die Hard knock off” 😀
@TheBreadmonkey
It's a container ship out at sea seen from above, isn't it? (Not that it makes it less similar)
@TheBreadmonkey having them look left while cutting off the left side of their faces makes them look acutely cross-eyed and now I can't unsee it, thanks Ben.
@TheBreadmonkey Jason Statham takes very careful aim at the low bar but afaik makes no bones about it, he does seems to work to zero in on his niche
This summer..... Jason Statham.... is............ Jason Statham.......... in........... JASON STATHAM.
"I'm Jason Statham"
- Jason Statham
@TheBreadmonkey @i_give_u_worms
I really liked Spy with Melissa McCarthy, where Statham essentially plays a parody of himself.
@TheBreadmonkey @i_give_u_worms I would definitely watch that. Look, I love going to the ICA to see three-hour Portuguese epic about an 18th-century aristocrat walking to Munich to buy a goose or something but I am very happy to spend a Friday evening watching the 27th incarnation of The Statham Film.
@TheBreadmonkey @i_give_u_worms
Knowing how self-aware he is really endeared him to me. I respect an honest guy...
