Anglophone Canadians woke up today furious that Americans would complain about Quebec's language laws. How dare they? That's *our* job! #ElbowsUp #ElbowsWayUp
We Murikinz must work two full-time jobs. First job is complaining. Second job is criticizing. Always scoping third job.
(sorry about the blank ... when I replied in this thread earlier I was testing some new Mastodon client and something went wrong. When I deleted the blank post it went out to the network anyway.)
@evan But you'll do it politely. (Well, maybe not the people in Alberta.)
@evan I thought the issue was about bilingual packaging, which is a federal law, not a QuΓ©bec one. When was the last time you heard this province support bilingual anything?
Maybe it's just the circles I move in, but it's very rare that I've heard complaints about bilingual packaging. There was that guy back in Winnipeg twenty years ago...
@mpjgregoire I refuse to defend my joke.
@evan I'm not sure what there is to complain about? Canada is officially bilingual, and I'm certain I heard former Montreal mayor Plante signal her enthusiasm of using both French and English in business and governmental affairs. This all seems pretty straightforward.
@evan how am I supposed to improve my French without bilingual labels?
