@0xabad1dea man i remember a few years ago CN anime style gacha games suddenly tried *really* hard to get away from being described as that for a while in favour of… I think „animation, comics and games culture“ or something (which absolutely did not work, at least not for non-domestic audiences, as indicated by me having to strain to even remember the term, and I think they maybe gave up)
