@dlatchx i don't know why you're mentioning ECB here and no block mode of operations can split up ciphertext across blocks. i want to split up boundaries between chunks to foil key recovery attacks

@dlatchx like, non-constant block sizes. stream ciphers can incorporate information from earlier plaintext to modify how later chunks are processed, but not the other way around. this is something BLAKE3 could do better to increase its parallelism, but i hadn't considered actually encrypting anything differently before
