@stux Linux was the only way (or rather the only way I knew of at the time) to get any sort of mp3 support on a Packard bell machine my family bought that came with win 3.11 on it.

iirc this was about the time of the free version of BeOS so while I was happy to make some use of an old machine, it just wasn't the same as what I could have on newer hardware.
