One of my weekend plans is that I'll spin down my botanica-test GtS instance, it served its purpose: proving that the host and account domain being on two entirely separate domains is fine, the vast majority of the fediverse handles it acceptably at worst, and entirely fine most of the time.
So I'll be dropping the -test part, and will spin up the Real Deal. Initially there will be two bots:
@campsis_radicans, for announcements, and as a stand-in for the "admin" role. I chose this name because the Hungarian name is "Trombitafolyondár", where "Trombita" is trumpet, and that felt like an appropriate choice for announcements. Fanfare and all, y'know.
The other bot's name is undecided, it'll be some kind of pine tree, and I'll use it to post stuff like: "algernon is suffering from a serious lack of caffeine. Cognitive abilities operating at five percent. We keep monitoring the situation." The idea is to be kind of a "current mood" bot, but worded as a status page entry. The current plan is to find a nice sounding latin pinetree name, and use that, because the account is going to post fake stuff, and the first fake plant that came to mind are fake christmas trees.
