@researchfairy Love Debian. Use it as my daily driver. It's consistent like the sun.
To your point about choosing OSes, though, one thing I don't get is there is a case for less-Linux-savvy user being a less optimal use case for Debian, but in that case wouldn't Mint be best?

@researchfairy is Debian your daily driver? My only concern with Ubuntu is that Canonical seem kind of shady and semicompetent (and chatbot-friendly).

@researchfairy and I am debating whether to explore Debian but "Canonical seems semicompetent and chatbot-friendly" is not a lot of activation energy. Life is triage.

I jumped off the Ubuntu train completely recently (had one device still running it until last weekend) and boy am I glad to never have to deal with snaps again
