Hear me out:
The reason Jeff Goldblum's character in Jurassic Park goes all "you were so preoccupied whether or not you could, you never stopped to think if you should" is *obviously* his traumatic and misguided scientific experiment in The Fly.

@rysiek No, wait, hear me out. This could work if his character in The Fly was actually a different character so Ian Malcolm, the mathematician in Jurassic Park was only an acquaintance of Dr. Brundle from The Fly. Horrified by Dr. Brundle's experiments, he retreats from biological experiments to live a boring life as a math teacher. Then he finds out about Jurassic Park, where he tries to plant the seeds of doubt in Dr Hammond's mind about the safety of his dino island.
@yuki2501 they're twins! Brundle and Malcolm are twins!
@rysiek The Goldblum Extended Universe (GEU). I like it!
