#WordWeavers Aug 18: What's your favorite line you've written this year?
I'm not sure if this counts as two lines, not just one, but I don't care; they're too inextricably intertwined. Also, this hits a lot harder in context, but it works pretty well even on its own:
“Everything’s always going on,” David said. “So much activity, all the time.”
“That’s what a City is,” San Francisco murmured warmly in his ear.

I'm still in the middle of my first draft.

I'll probably change my mind by the time I'm done with the first draft, but for now I'll go with:
San Francisco is alive, and magic is real.
(Might switch to "The City is alive, and magic is real", but I might stick with specifying _which_ particular city the story's set in.)
#WordWeavers Aug 21: What's a trope you enjoy writing, even if it's unpopular?
I'm not sure if it's "unpopular" yet, though I think it's at least decreasing in popularity — which is a good thing! And yet, I have to admit to a very guilty pleasure in writing a Depraved Bisexual.
(I feel very bad about this from the standpoint of queer/bi activism, community, and solidarity. But this character... I just need him to be like this.)

Adrian Hardesty would narrowly edge out Travis Winter and Derrick Devereaux for that "honor".
