I’ve boosted some of those posts, because my ass thought “oh cool, a publication on African music surely it’s an African”

@Walrus Okay so here's a thought on cultural appropriation.
Say someone from a culture that historically dominated/dominates another culture for some reason: e.g. a white British person and a Black African person via racism/imperialism/colonialism/capitalism, appropriates something from that culture: e.g. African music...
It is in no way comparible to a white Welsh person appropriating Greek music. That's just not an issue.

@Walrus Furthermore, it centres the conversation from Black folk rightfully complaining about shitty white cultural appropriation to us. It appropriates it too, as it were.
So next time a Black person complains about us, *listen*, don't appropriate.

I don’t give two shits about you enjoying our music, however creating a whole blog about it (THAT ACCEPTS DONATIONS) as a white settler on the continent is the definition of coloniser bs.
