I cannot overstate how much the revolution needs kind, reliable, people who show up when you need them and does not need drug-addled cut-rate Hunter S. Thompson impersonators.
@evacide Can we agree we need both?
@jeffmcneill The number of drug-addled cut rate Hunter S. Thompson impersonators that the revolution needs is zero.
@evacide I agree - it’s constant caring work that gets things done in the end.
And yet: whenever a certain kind of person dies, I feel sad that Thompson is no longer around to write their obituary.
@evacide The world wouldn't work without kind and reliable people. But please don't slander people like me and Mr Hunter Thompson, without crazy we wouldn't be human. Not everyone can be expected to be sane under the onslaught of existence.
@evacide "Hi, I'm back!... When was the last time any of you ate?! ...I'll be right back, I'm gonna grab my pots and pans
Reliable, sure. Kind, at some point that can be exploited by the opposition against ourselves, unfortunately, so we also need firm people in the team as well.
@csolisr Do you think kindness is spineless and stupid?
Some kinds of kindness can unfortunately be manipulated to become such, that's the problem.
@evacide Amen, and you rock! <3
@evacide Don't know who Hunter S. Thompson is, but I agree. We need kind, reliable people who CARE about others. We need people with empathy and actually care about how things affect others. Not these greedy politicians and corporations who only care about themselves.
@evacide I have no idea what the context is here, yet I endorse it wholeheartedly.
@mattblaze Many such cases.
I used to run into so many. Found among the young lads along with the slightly less popular dime-store Bukowskis.
