@AnarchoNinaWrites I don't even know how to reply to a lot of the doomer sorts, like, offer some hopeful message or point out a path to a better world (which is kinda your default; you're a bit prickly for an optimist, but, you tend toward a realistic-optimistic messaging at least - that there *is* a path out of this shit), and they tend to argue against it,
feeding the doom spiral is counter productive at best, and can be actively harmful,
So I am just at a loss with a lot of them.

"Prickly for an optimist" is, to be clear, not meant as a criticism or complaint; just trying to summarize how your usual style comes off, because like... a lot of (most of?) the shit you write is already in the vein of 'here is an effective path out of this', which... if the doomers are looking for something to be hopeful about, what more do they want from you about it?
@miss_rodent It's okay - you aren't saying anything untrue. I lack patience for pretend, and it makes people think I'm hostile because in Pretendland the Country the idea that you would be enraged by pretending doesn't even occur to them so they think I'm just mad all the time.

I wouldn't describe myself as a big Vladdy Lenin fan, but let me tell you a story about Lenin and the Russian Revolution. Literally something like 2-6 weeks before the Revolution broke out, Lenin was in Germany giving a talk to Russian dissidents who had fled the Tsar (to Germany, good call mates...) - during that talk he said more or less that he still believed in revolution but he had come to accept it would be his kids, or his grandkids, who finally ended the Tsar's tyranny.
The point being? You don't know. You have no idea. If the most famous revolutionary of the modern era couldn't predict the most famous revolution in human history, even mere WEEKS before it happened.... you don't know.
It's not "over" till you're dead. Are you dead? Then stop with the theatrics.
