In the state of Washington, Republicans are placing child gender screening on the ballot.
Bluntly, they want 200,000 children to strip naked for a genital examination, to prevent 10 #trans child athletes from joining whatever team they want.
I respect that there is a discussion about gender advantages in professional adult sports like weight lifting, but why would it matter that in very rare cases there is 1 transgender child on a beginner's league basketball team?

@randahl I think what terrifies me most of all is just how effective this form of manipulation truly is. That they can even put this on the docket in a nation where "child protection" goes so far that countless rights can be eliminated if they just *say* it might protect children at all speaks more volumes than I could ever say about just how effective this method is.

There aren't any sustained advantages for transgender woman who are on HRT. Prepubescent, there's no advantage either way.
