Mussolini’s pictures in Time Magazine during his visits to the USA is what really cued me into what i always felt was off about USA’s “business suit culture”.

for decades i could not articulate why corporate attire was something different from the mainstream culture even though it was iterated and forced into shopping malls everywhere i went as a teen and young adult.

I’m dealing with multiple severe chronic illnesses, including serious heart issues and frequent loss of consciousness.

Yet most days I feel like supply chain issues will be what kills me.

It’s terrifying to rely on medications & medical supplies during these uncertain times.

You can’t “just stock up” on medications.

Financial issues aside, there’s insurance issues and often limits as to how much a person can have.

There’s virtually no way you can “prep” for medication shortages, and it’s scary.

I spent this entire day trying to track down a medication that’s on back order.

Trying to find an alternative.

Trying to cobble together enough to survive.

People who are non disabled have no idea how scary it is to know that supply chain disruptions could quickly & painfully end your life.

We need a system to ensure medication needs are met.

A patient at UC San Diego received a letter threatening to have their care discontinued if they continued to request staff wear N95s.

The letter calls this behaviour “disruptive”

Covid isn’t over. An N95 is one of the best ways to protect yourself.

It’s not disruptive to fight for your health.

Please stop saying ICE agents are “wearing masks”

They’re wearing face coverings. Gaitors.

The anti-mask rhetoric has caused untold harm to disabled people.

Mask bans have already been enacted in many places.

We must fight for our right to continue wearing medical masks & respirators.

For those who says this isn’t the right time because there’s a “crisis”, understand that disabled people are often the first targets under fascism.

Some places have already criminalized masking.

We need to keep each other as healthy as possible. It’s hard to fight with Long Covid

The Trump regime continues to double down on their eugenicist choices, nominating Casey Means, a wellness influencer, for surgeon general.

I’ve said for a long time that “wellness” is eugenics adjacent.

While there’s nothing wrong with a healthy lifestyle, no amount of green juice, yoga, meditation or sunlight can cure disabilities.

What’s worse, wellness “influencers” almost always blame the chronically ill for not trying hard enough.

Between Means, Prasad, RFK Jr and Dr Oz, things look bleak for those with disabilities (but great for anyone hawking supplements!)
