I'm at a festival being badgered to sign a petition to legislate for mandatory on-device AI detection of CSAM. A really good, well-meaning charity has been convinced by an AI company that, through legislation, they can get their third-party commercial model included on every Android and iOS device in the UK. Apparently I'm the bad guy for pointing out that these people are charlatans and the odds of this happening are precisely zero.
