Note that the opt-out mentions username; it also means organisation name, so make sure to opt out those too. And you can replace the list with “- all” to ask for everything under that name to be removed. 3316 requests so far, let’s get that number up.

@floppy It's maddening that we have to opt-out instead of the slopperators opting-in. They know that if they only rely on opt-ins they'll get the tiniest sample data, so they prefer to take this criminal opt-out route.
I despise LLM companies and supporters so much........
@Floppy @concretedog yup, looks like someone at @Mastodon might want to request that removal, but it may not be worthwhile since The Stack has presumably already been fed to the models, and you can’t get it out again without starting over with the training dataset (or am i misunderstanding the ML process?)

It doesn't appear to be indexing AGPL code though (and maybe GPL, not checkes), so mastodon/mastodon itself isn't included (though lots of the related stuff is)

@Floppy Another thing to remember is that Hugging Face is most likely violating EU GDPR because they are collecting user account details for commercial use without opt-in.
By default, GDPR rules that nobody would have to opt-out, because user data can't be collected for commercial usage without individual opt-in permissions for each of the targeted user accounts (who happen to belong to people from the EU area). Since most GitHub accounts don't mention the country of origin, it is high legal risk to include any of them to a commercially redistributed dataset.

@andrewnez @Floppy @concretedog hmm... I really need to know if an AGPL app can use eclipse and other licensed libraries. I've had conflicting advice in the past
