I'm partial to Raymond Chandler's advice: "when in doubt, have a man come through the door with a gun". Failing that, the old pulp serial standby: "with one jump, he was free!"
But really, the best solution is to break the frame that dictated there should be a corner for you to be in. Expand the picture, add context that removes the obstacle.
