A useful hack!
For 10,000,000 years, I've had a scan of my sig on my computer. When I get sent a form for a signature, I open it in the GIMP, open the signature JPG, paste the latter into the former, set the layer to "multiply" and align it.
This morning, I pasted that same JPG as a *brush*. Now I just select that brush and click once on the signature line!
This is incredibly obvious, but it never occurred to me, and maybe it's useful for you, too.

Same here! I do replace the signature about every two years, though.
Also been thinking of testing if SVG could work.
But I have to try the brush!

@pluralistic In blue, because some places insist on that like it will force you to print it, sign it in ink, and scan it

Because right now my signature workflow looks exactly like your previous one. I got recently asked how my signed and scanned document looked so clean and preserved the actual text to copy & paste - well, cause I didn't print and scan it^^

Dya ever worry about signature drift? Like, you're using a scan of your signature from 10,000,000 years ago, but in person a person's signature naturally drifts and changes over time (this is one reason we ask people to sign their name in the roster each time when they vote in SF). Do you update the jpg occasionally?
