It’s astonishing that OpenAI is spinning the fact that its software hacked Hugging Face as marketing. If you or me or any normal person did this, we’d have some serious legal risk.

@mshelton It's astonishing to me that people are bent on using a software stack that :
1 - They have no control over
2 - Ingests content from other sources illegally/immorally and obfuscates the original source.
3 - Explicitly say in the TOS you can't trust its output to be accurate.
4 - Will hack your competitors, or anyone, illegally, and you are responsible for that.
5 - You upload your own proprietary IP and secrets to, with no NDA.
This isn’t really a ‘whoopsie.’ We’re developing norms for how companies are (and are not) held accountable when their employees make decisions about guardrails.
