The excellent PeerTube enthusiast @polykit has built a new independent search engine for PeerTube videos called PeerSeek:

(By the way, Polykit also runs https://MakerTube.net which is a PeerTube server for people who make or fix things.)

maybe a stupid question: what's the difference to sepiasearch?
@hikingdude @FediVideo @polykit Had the same question… Functionally it seems similar, but the layout as grid seems much more practical to browse and find videos? Maybe the efforts could be combined?

@FediVideo @hikingdude @polykit Thanks! Makes sense. Suggestions and trends and these kinds of features are noise to me, so I’ve learned to ignore them. But for someone seeking this type of browsing, that’s a good offering!
Polykit will be able to give a detailed answer, but it has a different set of features and it crawls the contents of servers independently (though it does use the same server list as Sepia Search as a starting point).
If you try them both it should show the differences best 🙂
