@arstechnica The whole thing is likely just a PR campaign. The lack of critical insight from Ars is a bit baffling, especially since they've been very publicly burned on AI-related stories before. The story is nothing but "OpenAI said" and "Hugging Face said", with a single alarmist quote from one congressman slipped in.
